Three sine waves that represent the hour, minute and second move from right to left in different speeds like pointers on an ordinary clock. The narrower the wave the bigger the time unit. Proceeding along one period corresponds to a full time cycle, that means 12 hours, 60 minutes or 60 seconds. The marker circles move along a vertical axis and display the current time, so the hour circle at the very bottom of its curve would indicate 6 AM/PM, the minute circle climbing halfway to the top would mean 45 minutes.
